PUBLIC COMMENT OPPORTUNITIES: TWO OPPORTUNITIES FOR PUBLIC COMMENT ARE PROVIDED; ONE AT THE BEGINNING AND ONE AT THE END OF THE MEETING. COMMENTS ON AGENDA ITEMS ARE AT THE DISCREATION OF THE CHAIR OF THE COMMISSION.
Background on previous meeting locations.
Port meetings were held the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm beginning in 2019 at a NEW LOCATION 8050 Illahee Road. The change of recent meeting locations was at the request of 6 Illahee residents with mobility issues that Port meetings be accessible for them, as they were when the Port was meeting outside of the abandoned Illahee Store during the summer/fall months. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Port Commissioners look forward to hearing from residents which can be done in writing or at our meetings.
Note: June, July, and August 2017 port meetings were requested and approved to be held on the premises of the Illahee Store property to acommodate residents who cannot safely traverse the steep slope (18%) to the lower level of 5500 Illahee Road.
Meeting Minutes RCW 42.32.030 states: “The minutes of all regular and special meetings except executive sessions of such boards, commissions, agencies or authorities shall be promptly recorded and such records shall be open to public inspection.” Meeting minutes are prepared following the meeting, and approved and signed by Port Commissioners at the next regular meeting, and are then posted on the website.
